About Us
Five Star National - Virginia Beach is a non-profit 501c(3) youth baseball and softball organization based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. We are set to begin our 10th season in 2023, providing travel baseball and softball to some of the most talented players in all of Hampton Roads.
The Virginia Beach organization was founded in 2013 by Head Coach, Jesse James, and Manager, Shannon Robbins, as a single 9u team called the Tidewater Outlaws until 2017. During those years, the now President and General Manager, Chris Chavis, would help grow the outlaws to a six-team organization, hosting 8u-13u.
In 2018, the organization split and the Outlaws merged with the Delmarva Aces out of Berlin, Maryland. From there, we adopted the academy-style training platform and grew our organization to 12 teams at Coastal Sports Center in Norfolk, VA, and added one of the most well-known player development platforms in the business, EBI Strong.
In 2021, contracts with both the Delmarva Aces and Coastal Sports Center would come to an end, paving the way for the organization to make their final merger, 5 Star National. By collaborating with 5 Star National and becoming the Virginia Beach location, we’ve been able to grow to more than 15 teams, currently operating out of the Virginia Beach Field House.
Since merging with 5 Star National, we have been able to host the Hall of Fame Hitter Cecil Fielder, TikTok and Internet Sensation, Mark Paul with MPThreebaseball, help multiple players receive college scholarships, start a new avenue for travel softball, and lead multiple teams to statewide, regional, and local championships, developing some of the best players in the 757.
As members of the National brand, 5 Star has locations in Florida, Georgia, Texas, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Ohio, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Puerto Rico, with our Virginia Beach location hosting 15 teams and training over 200 players!
